Clarity Massage Therapy is a licensed massage studio located in Durham, NC. Claire Heymans LMBT 10556, the sole owner, has been practicing massage and bodywork therapy for 12 years.
Clarity Massage Therapy specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Bamboo Fusion, Nurturing the Mother Pregnancy and Postpartum® massage , Integrative Reflexology®, Reiki, Gua Sha, Oncology massage, MediCupping™ massage.

Story
I was born in South Africa and immigrated with my family to the US when I was 10. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I went on to get my Graduate Degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Sydney. I have always been interested in how to help people achieve their best self in health and well being. I worked as a Medical Personal Trainer in Chicago where I met my husband. We moved to North Carolina in 2008 and fell in love with it.​
I have always had a desire to become a Massage Therapist and had the opportunity to do so in 2010. I obtained my Massage Diploma from Body Therapy Institute (BTI) in August 2010. I fell in love with the way I was able to help people through relaxation, rejuvenation, and therapeutically. In addition to my extensive training in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, I have trained in Hot Stone Massage, Nurturing the Mother® Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage, Bamboo Fusion Massage, Reiki, Oncology Massage, MediCupping™, and Intigrative Reflexology®. I believe that massage should be an integral part of every ones self care regime. The benefits of regular massage include reduced pain in joints and muscles. Decrease in blood pressure and feelings of stress. It can help reduce the symptoms of mental illness and help increase overall well-being. During a session I am often called to include the use of aromatherapy, reflexology, and reiki to help enhance your body's ability to heal. I want you to feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and refreshed when you leave my office.
In December of 2021, I completed the Spirit of Learning Teacher Training. I am an Instructor for CMMS, teaching NTM Pregnancy and Postpartum massage, Integrative Reflexology, and Lymphatic Massage for Detoxification. It has been so fulfilling and I can't wait to explore this path more.

PRENATAL MASSAGE
Trained in Nurturing the Mother® massage technique, this massage includes soothing scalp work, relief from the aches and pains of pregnancy. Massaging specific areas such as hips and feet.

INTEGRATIVE REFLEXOLOGY®
REIKI
Integrative Reflexology(R) is a four-theory approach to reflexology. It includes the theories of Structural, Alignment, Zone, and Psychoneuroimmounology. This serves as more holistic approach to reflexology.

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique based on the principle of channeling energy into the client through touch. It activates the natural healing processes of the body and restores physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki means 'Universal Life Force.'
Reiki can be added to any session but is also very beneficial as session all its own.

ONCOLOGY MASSAGE
Oncology massage is provided for those who currently have cancer or have had cancer. Training involved gaining knowledge of cancers, tumors, and treatments. Oncology massage is typically a non circulatory massage. It is to provide comfort and support during or after cancer diagnosis and treatments. Oncology massage has been found to reduce the symptoms of treatments such as; fatigue, nausea, depression, anxiety, and pain. This type of massage is truly a humbling and honoring experience for the therapist to provide such care during this disruptive time.

MediCupping™
MediCupping™ uses a machined to create the suction and pumping movements that are normally done with manual vacuum pistols, to create a soothing, consistent and effective treatment without strain on the therapist or client. MediCupping™ helps separate the layers of the tissues in the body to help with mobility, circulation, hydration, and the elimination of toxins. MediCupping™ can athletic performance, detoxification, joint mobilization, pain reduction, releasing of tight and contracted muscles, and scar reduction. MediCupping™ will be used in all sessions I am called to use it in.
Corporate Massage
In-Home Massage
Whats more special than treating your employees to a much needed break! With corporate chair massage you are showing that you care about you employees well being and health. I offer on location chair massage which will enhance productivity and recess stress in your employees.

Usually 4-5 10-15 minute massages available during an hour. Multiple therapists available with advanced notice. Employer will need to set up a sign up for massages.

In-home massages are a great way to relax and not have to travel. For me to come to your home there are some requirements. You must provide your own table. There must be a clean and clear private room. I need at least 3 ft around the table to have proper body mechanics and to be comfortable. Room temperature must be adjustable to keep me comfortable. I am happy to provide sheets but please provide a blanket and pillows. If you supply your own sheets I will educate on how to wash them properly to extract left over oils. I can perform gus sha and have silicone cups for cupping.
